Zahid U. Jamil, Barrister at Law

Zahid Jamil is a Senior Partner with the law firm Jamil and Jamil. He qualified as a Barrister from Gray’s Inn and is currently practicing in the UAE as a member of the Bar at the Dubai International Financial Center Court (DIFC Court), in Pakistan as a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court and High Courts of Pakistan and as a Special Legal Consultant to the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Mr. Jamil is an experienced, highly skilled and leading lawyer and policy counsel with expertise in technology, cybersecurity, cybercrime, finance, banking, corporate, commercial, sanctions, anti-money laundering, intellectual property, electronic transactions, digital banking, payment systems, eCommerce, virtual currencies, digital signatures, regtech, criminal law, outsourcing, logistics, investment and mergers & acquisitions.

Abbas Lotia

Abbas Lotia has been with Jamil & Jamil since 2015. He is a seasoned legal and public policy professional with experience and expertise in commercial law, contract law, technology law, data protection, cybercrime, cybersecurity and digital payments. Currently serving as Senior Associate, he advises both local and international clients on a diverse range of legal matters. His expertise includes drafting, vetting, and negotiating various legal documents. 

Abbas played a pivotal role in significant legal projects, including assisting the State Bank of Pakistan in drafting the Regulatory Framework for Digital Banks, a project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and drafting the Internet Activities Framework for the U.A.E. Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority. He has extensive licensing, regulatory compliance, and legislative developments in Pakistan, the UAE and the region. In addition to his advisory work, Abbas has been involved in advising on complex litigation and contentious matters. His international experience includes assisting a consultant to cybercrime laws for the Council of Europe with respect to technology legislation and capacity building exercises.

Muhammad Abdullah

Muhammad Abdullah has been with us since 2002. He holds a Masters of Arts Degree in International Relations from Karachi University, a Bachelors of Commerce from Sirajuddullah Govt. College, Karachi, and an L.L.B from Federal Govt. Urdu Law College, Karachi. Muhammad Abdullah works in our litigation team and has extensive commercial/civil litigation, criminal litigation, and trial experience. 

His principal areas of practice are property registration, conveyancing, banking law, family law, and labor laws. He appears regularly in the Civil Courts, High Court, Federal Services Tribunal, and Labour Courts. His expertise includes litigation, documentation, and drafting with respect to Corporate, Banking, IP, Customs, Family Law, and Property Law, as well as filing of Intellectual Property documents before the Trademark Registry, Patent Office, and Copyright Registry.

Adnan Ali

Adnan Ali has been with us since 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Islamia Govt. College, Karachi, and an L.L.B from Sindh Muslim Law College, Karachi. Adnan Ali works in our litigation team and has extensive experience in commercial/civil litigation, criminal litigation, and trial work. His principal areas of practice include property registration, conveyancing, banking law, family law, and labor laws.

Malik Ehsan

Malik Muhammad Ehsan is a distinguished Attorney at Law and Company Secretary, renowned for his expertise in policy consultancy and legal representation. With a robust background in litigation, arbitration, and corporate compliance, Malik has successfully handled a wide range of high-profile cases across various forums, including the Supreme Court of Pakistan, High Courts, and the Federal Ombudsman. Currently serving as a Senior Associate at Jamil & Jamil, Malik has represented clients in complex civil and criminal cases, including significant matters related to the Axact scandal and cases involving large multinational organizations. His proficiency extends to drafting legal documents, preparing litigation summaries, and conducting comprehensive legal research. As a Company Secretary for the Center for Strategic Studies and Policy Analysis (CSPA), Malik manages organizational compliance and facilitates timely project delivery. 

His role involves drafting and overseeing key legal and corporate documents, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and contributing to the strategic objectives of the organization. Abdul Razzak Surahio

Abdul Razzak Surahio is an advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan and has been a valuable member of Jamil & Jamil since 2021. With extensive expertise in both contentious and non-contentious legal matters, Razzak has developed a strong reputation for handling complex cases across diverse fields of law. His practice areas include insurance and re-insurance, telecommunications and cybercrime, corporate and commercial law, logistics and shipping, international law, intellectual property, and banking laws. Razzak’s experience includes advising leading telecommunications companies on compliance and regulatory frameworks. He also serves as an arbitrator at the Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center, further underscoring his deep involvement in dispute resolution.

 In addition to his advisory work, Razzak is actively engaged in litigation before the High Courts, District Courts, and Special Courts, where he handles civil and criminal matters, family disputes, property disputes, taxation issues, and cases involving cybercrime and banking offenses. Sunain Qazi

Sunain Qazi is a dedicated legal professional with significant experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and litigation. He has been with us since October 2021. Sunain has worked with a variety of clients, including both local and international corporations, providing comprehensive legal advice and practical solutions across a wide array of industries. He has advised clients on contracts, technology, payment systems, data protection, employment law, cybercrime, competition, and telecom law.

Sunain’s role also includes drafting and vetting commercial agreements, regulatory filings, and court pleadings, while managing litigation strategies in coordination with in-firm litigation teams. His work extends to advising UAE-based companies and contributing to legislative drafting efforts, particularly in the areas of telecommunications and cybercrime laws. Sunain holds an LLB (Honors) from the University of London, and his areas of expertise span corporate governance, intellectual property, and legal compliance.
