The following Act by Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) received the assent of the President on the 5th January, 1998, and is hereby published for general information:--
Whereas it is expedient to amend the National Fund for Cultural Heritage Act, 1994 (VIII of 1994), for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted as follows:--

1. Short title and commencement.--(1) This Act may be called the National Fund for Cultural Heritage (Amendment) Act, 1997.
(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of section 6, Act VIII of 1994.--In the National Fund for Cultural Heritage Act, 1994 (VIII of 1994), in section 6, in subsection (1), for clauses (i) to (vii) the following shall be substituted, namely:--
"(i) Prime Minister Patron

(ii) Federal Minister in charge of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs
Division Chairman

(iii) Federal Minister for Finance Member

(iv) Secretary, Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs. Member/Secretary/
Treasurer

(v) Fifteen eminent persons in the field of national heritage, including nine persons
from private sector, two Senators and four Members of the National Assembly to be
nominated by the Federal Government. Members

(vi) Director-General, Department of Archaeology and Museums. Member

(vii) Secretaries of Culture Departments of all the Provinces. Members

(viii) Joint Secretary (Culture), Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs. Member."
