INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS
ATTENTION OF THE APPLICANTS AND THOSE ATTESTING THE FORM AND DOCUMENTS TO BE
ENCLOSED BY THE APPLICANTS WITH THE FORM IS DRAWN TO SUB-SECTION (2) OF SECTION 28 OF THE
PAKISTAN COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTS AND TOWN PLANNERS ORDINANCE, 1983, WHICH READS AS
FOLLOWS:
“WHOEVER WILFULLY PROCURES OR ATTEMPTS TO PROCURE HIMSELF TO BE REGISTERED UNDER
THIS ORDINANCE AS AN ARCHITECT OR TOWN PLANNER, OR TO HAVE HIS NAME ENTERED IN EITHER
OF THE LISTS, BY MAKING OR PRODUCING OR CAUSING TQ BE MADE OR PRODUCED ANY FALSE OR
FRAUDULENT REPRESENTATION OR DECLARATION, EITHER ORALLY OR IN WRITING, AND ANY
PERSON WHO ASSISTS HIM THEREIN, SHALL BE PUNISHABLE WITH FINE WHICH MAY EXTEND TO FIVE
HUNDRED RUPEES.”
Application forms and Handbook are available for Rs. 1501/= from the Registrar, Pakistan Council of Architects & Town
Planners, R. S. M. Square, 1st Floor, Suite No. Ill, E-1, Shaheed-e Road, Karachi. The amount may be paid either in cash
against receipt or by crossed Bank Draft/Pay Order payable at any branch of a scheduled bank in Karachi and made out in
the name of “Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners”. Postage will be charged extra. This Application Form will
be filled up by those applicants who posses recognized architectural qualifications as given in Schedules I and II of the
Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners Ordinance, 1983. The PCATP Ordinance with Schedules I and II, the
Bye- laws of the Council, the Code of Professional Conduct, rules and regulations of the Council have been published in
the HANDBOOK supplied with the Application Form.
The Form should be filled in neat legible hand or typed and sent by Registered Post or hand delivered to the Registrar.
Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners, R. S. M. Square, 1st Floor, Suite No. Ill, E- 1, Shaheed-e-Millat Road,
Karachi, along with the following documents.
1. A photostat copy of the professional diploma/degree duly attested by the Registrar of a Technical University I
Head of an Architectural Institution or a member of the Executive Committee of the Pakistan Council of
Architects and Town Planners. In case, the degree has not been issued, the original Provisional Certificate
alongwith its photostat copy duly attested by the Registrar of the Technical University or the Head/Chairman of
the relevant Department of the Professional Institution should be enclosed. The original Provisional Certificate
will be returned after verification.
2. A Photostat copy of the National Identity Card.
3. Five latest passport size photographs-one should be pasted on the form, one pasted on Index Card and three spare
should be stapled to the form.
4. Registration Index Card annexed to the application should also be filled up except the entries on its right hand top
corner and returned with the form with latest Passport size photograph pasted in the space provided and specimen
signature duly attested by a Grade 18 Officer of the Federal or Provincial Government or by a Member of the
Executive Committee of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners.
5. Registration Fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) in the form of cross Pay Order / Bank Draft payable at
any branch of a scheduled bank in Karachi and made out in the name of “PAKISTAN COUNCIL OF
ARCHITECTS AND TOWN PLANNERS”.
6. If you acquired your registrable qualification prior to submission of this application for registration, you will have
to pay Non-Registration charges at the rate of Rs. 350/- per year if you are applying within five years of graduation
or © Rs. 500/- per year if applying after five years of such graduation.
